Wow, I haven't posted in a month. I'm sorry about that. It's been a crazy month and gahhh, I'm behind on posting and book reviews and so on.
Needless to say, I've pretty much disappeared from a regular life and have been living in what seems like Groundhog's Day (remember that movie)? It's almost the same, get up, run, go to work, come home, get Emily settled in for the night, then either workout or write (my would-be, will-be book), and go to bed.
I've actually only read TWO books so far this year and one I'm STILL reading. I've only been reading during my lunch breaks at work. But I did cave and spend the last few nights reading The Madman's Daughter.
I also ran my first 5k!!!! I will have a post about that soon. Unfortunately Rich and Emily couldn't go, so my Dad took some pics and I'm waiting to get a disc with those pics because the email quality is not big enough to post.
Long story short: My time was 48 minutes....so I made it in under an hour!
I'm still training for the Big HALF Marathon, which has been going good. I've hit my 10-mile long run and I've been working on getting to the 11-mile run. I only have three weeks left, and I'm burned out. I've been dealing with torrential rains, sickness and a cranky toddler. So I'm ready to see this thing end.
MY SKINNY SISTER IS RUNNING THIS WITH ME, but poor gal, she had to go to Antarctica for two months and hasn't trained very much.
I've also signed up for the Woman's Hospital half marathon in December so I can get my training back on!
The goal for after the half in February is to lose some weight, run the half in December and if I'm at my goal weight, take a year (yes a year) to train for a yikes!!! FULL marathon.
As always, I have lofty goals but considering all the obstacles I've had over the last five months of training, I think I can do this.
But here are book reviews you can expect soon since this is a book blog:
Let's play catch-up! How was January for you?
Would you believe I've never seen Groundhog Day? I've heard about it a zillion times. I'm thinking I don't want to see it if it's going to make me think about how I do the same thing over & over. hmmmm.
